Welcome to Tom’s world of art and illustration.

From time to time, Tom has found himself obsessed with a particular theme, idea or figment of his imagination, so much so that he has no other choice than to channel it from his mind into a physical form of some sort (for fear of it staying inside his head and driving him mad).

This forms the basis of his ‘better out than in’ philosophy to ideas in general. There is little point in thinking or dreaming fantastical thoughts if you are never going to share or do anything about them.

To visualise or represent thoughts in some sort of physical means is the first step any idea has to take in order to become a reality, allowing you to evaluate, discuss or reject it. Sometimes a vision is not so much knowing where you want to go, but to realise where you don’t want to go, therefore, like the natural journey of a river flowing towards the ocean, ideas should be nurtured into following the path of least resistance. Or whatever?

Tom has no formal training in art and therefore, this really is just a form of expression. However, as a professionally qualified product designer, he has developed a high level of competency in 3D digital illustration, some examples of which are also showcased in this section.
